The Challenge

The premier event in ocean rowing – a challenge that will take us more than 4800 kilometers west from San Sebastian in La Gomera on the Canary islands to Nelson’s Dockyard, English Harbour in Antigua & Barbuda. We will take on this race begins in early December 2023, with up to 30 teams participating from around the world.

The World's Toughest Row - Atlantic brings together teams from all walks of life united by the same objective: to take on the unique challenge of crossing an ocean in a rowing boat. The atmosphere is electric as people help each other prepare for the challenge of the mighty Atlantic Ocean. Teams battle with sleep deprivation, salt sores, and physical extremes inflicted by the race. Rowers are left with their own thoughts, an expanse of the ocean and the job of getting the boat safely to the other side.

First Light supports families who have experienced Sudden Infant Death Syndrome - our oldest brother, Rory, died at 10 weeks and we plan to bring Rory with us on this journey by  naming our boat after him.

Make A Wish is also very special to us as we can clearly see the importance of their work and impact they can have on the lives of those who need an uplift at some of the hardest times.
